The Council is considering planning applications for the Rugby ground in Central Bath. There is a listed building application and a planning application both available to view here https://www.bathnes.gov.uk/webforms/planning/#
The reference numbers for the applications are 23/03558/EFUL and 23/03559/LBA
If you have views on the application please submit your comments individually – the deadline for comments on the main application is 4th November 2023. The deadline for the listed buildings application is 26th October.
There are many documents for these applications on the planning portal. The Environmental Statement – 02 – Approach to EIA is helpful to gain an overview with information on the issues that are likely to be of interest to residents.
One issue that might be of concern to some residents is the proposed increase in the number of events held at the club. For example music, theatre and conferences. There are also implications for travel, lighting and the environment in addition to the overall plans for the rec. The original plan for a car park has not been included. We have placed an extract from this document on our web site. Follow the link below:-
Please join us at 7 pm for drinks and nibbles in St Mary’s Bathwick church hall. Gavin Osborn – Senior Community and Events Fundraiser at Julian House – is going to give a short talk about the work of Julian House. There will be a raffle and a small entrance fee to cover cost of drinks and all profits of the event will go to Julian House.
A new provider of e-scooters and e-bikes has been introduced by WECA. This web page gives more information on the scheme run by TIER and the roll out of e-bikes, e-scooters and e-cargo bikes:
If you have any comments or concerns over the parking of escooters or bikes please use this email address. micromobility@bathnes.gov.uk
If the waste is not collected it will not be collected until the following week so residents should take it back off the road and put it out the following week.

“Thank you for inviting us to lead a guided walk of the park on Saturday. I really enjoyed meeting everyone and hope that they also enjoyed the tour. If you would like us to help with any future events please let us know. Some of your members were asking about the Sydney Gardens Tree Trail perhaps you could direct them to our website for all the details”
The resolution on the poster is poor on some devices so for clarity this is the timetable:-

3.30pm tour of Sydney Gardens – Meet at the Community Pavilion which is the new building between the back of the Holburne and the Warminster Road entrance to the park. The Friends of Sydney Gardens are asking for a £5 per head donation for those attending the tour. There will be a card reader available.
3pm onwards – Teas served in the Community Pavilion – The Community Pavilion is in front of the petanque court so if you have a set of petanque balls bring them along! Donations for tea and cake of £5 per head will go to Dorothy House. There will be a card reader available.
