Instead of the usual open gardens summer event we have arranged an afternoon visiting the Canal Gardens Allotments with a tour by Penny and Peter Dalrymple-Smith, followed by a tour of Sydney Gardens by Gill Gazzard of the Friends of Sydney Gardens, and finishing up in the Community Pavilion in Sydney Gardens for tea and cakes.
Donations of cakes or biscuits would be much appreciated.
The schedule is as follows:-
2.30pm tour of Canal Garden Allotments – these are entered via a metal gate on the right, at the bottom of the steps that lead down from the canal to Pultney Street, at the point where Pultney Street goes under the railway bridge.
3.30pm tour of Sydney Gardens – we all know where that is but a start point will be communicated once it is agreed.
3pm onwards – Teas served in the Community Pavilion – this is the new building between the back of the Holburne and the Warminster Road entrance to the park. The Community Pavilion is in front of the petanque court so if you have a set of petanque balls bring them along!
Fingers crossed for good weather.
