20 mph speed limit update

Further to our previous post :

Although it is not clear from the council’s web site, David Martin, our local councillor has informed us that the 20 mph speed limit is only proposed for the top of Bathwick Hill from the North road junction upwards, click on link below for the map :

TC8115_14_100 (TRO Drawing)-GA-1 (1) (1)

Red roads are 30mph,  green are 20 mph.

The majority of your  responses have shown an objection to a 20 mph limit for the whole hill.  However some support for a 20 mph limit from the junction with Sydney buildings down to the junction with Sydney wharf ( the area in front of the shops ) which is not in the current consultation.

Also many would like to see better enforcement of the current 30 limit.

Any further feed back will be welcomed. Our next committee meeting is not until after the deadline, but given the modified plan we do not plan to object to the current 20mph plan, as the BHRA, but we will certainly follow up on the other points.

We encourage members to contact the council with their comments, and let us know their opinions on traffic control on the Hill.

20 mph speed limit to be enforced on bathwick Hill

The council intend to enforce a 20mph speed limit on bathwick hill and the surrounding roads. There is an opportunity to object up to the deadline of 15th Jan.

The BHRA committee does not have the time or opportunity to fully discuss and write for or against, although if we get a response from sufficient members either for or against we are happy to write to the council to object if the majority are against.

PLEASE get any feed back to us by 8th Jan at the latest.

Application to extend Tesco Licence

It has just come to our attention that Tesco have posted a notice saying they hope to extend their licence to midnight. We have contacted the council licencing who have not as yet received a formal application.

We suggest that if you are unhappy with the proposal you contact Tesco. The committee have not discussed this as yet, although initial feed back is that we would object on behalf of residents.

When the council receives the application it will be posted under Licences & permits on www.bathnes.gov.uk.
