B&NES are proposing a Clean Air zone in the centre of Bath, Matt Cochrane gave us some background information on this at our Autumn Event last Thursday.
Today you should have received a card with your post from B&NES outlining the proposed CAZ. You have a chance to comment on this online on www.bathnes.gov.uk/breathe, or you can go to the One Stop Shop or the Library to complete the survey.
The general consensus in the meeting was that the CAZ needs to be extended to include the A36 from Pulteney Rd along Sydney Place to the Beckford Rd junction with North Rd to prevent our area being used as a rat run. Matt says that Sydney place and Gt. Pulteney St. want to be included in the CAZ.
Matt has says to change the boundary of the clean air zone it is important we all respond to the consultation. The BHRA committee can also write, but individual responses are needed to reinforce our position. We believe that it is important that we avoid becoming a rat run as traffic and pollution on the hill is already a problem. I hope you all agree.
